SR Accountant

General Purpose of the Position: The Senior Accountant supports day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close activities.

This role will be responsible for preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and assisting with key close processes across multiple areas of the balance sheet and P&L. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Controller and broader finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and timely completion of all close-related responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and reclassifications
• Consolidate multiple entities and several currencies
• Support intercompany billing and prepare eliminations and reconciliations
• Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for audit and reporting purposes
• Perform account reconciliations and resolve variances in a timely manner
• Support month-end close activities, ensuring deadlines are met and reporting is accurate
• Assist with fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, and depreciation
• Maintain and track prepaid expenses and related amortization schedules
• Record and reconcile P-card (procurement card) activity, including accruals and postings
• Contribute to process improvements and help strengthen internal controls
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and complete financial data
• Analyze accounts for proper financial reporting classification
• Other duties as assigned Skills and Abilities Required:
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and data entry accuracy
• Analytical Skills: Ability to identify discrepancies, resolve invoice issues, and maintain accurate financial records
• Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks, and manage high-volume invoice processing
• Communication Skills: Effective interaction with vendors, internal departments, and management Contacts:

• Requires some extended hours to support projects as needed Education and Experience Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3-5+ years of accounting experience (public or private)
