Responsibilities
Provide senior-level field inspection for construction of water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, pipelines, and related infrastructure. Monitor construction activities for conformance with contract documents, drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and project requirements. Review plans and specifications for constructability concerns, conflicts, errors, omissions, and potential field issues.

Work closely with contractors, Carollo project teams, engineers, and client representatives to resolve field questions and maintain effective project coordination. Review and track RFIs, submittals, change-related documentation, field directives, and as-built conditions as applicable to construction activities. Observe and document changed or unforeseen field conditions and communicate potential impacts to the appropriate project team members.
Coordinate construction-related shutdowns and system outages with project teams and client facilities, as required. Prepare thorough daily inspection reports, field documentation, photographs, progress records, and construction observations. Maintain accurate documentation of construction progress, quantities, changed conditions, and as-built information.
Assist with verification of construction quantities and contractor progress for payment purposes. Participate in construction progress, coordination, and field meetings as needed. Build productive working relationships with contractors, owners, engineers, and other project stakeholders while maintaining objective and consistent construction oversight.
Provide field leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to less-experienced construction inspectors. Support project leadership by clearly communicating significant field concerns, recurring issues, and items requiring additional engineering or management attention.
Qualifications
10+ years of progressively responsible construction inspection or construction-related field experience, with demonstrated ability to independently oversee complex construction activities. Significant experience with water/wastewater or comparable heavy civil infrastructure construction. Strong working knowledge of construction methods, materials, equipment, plans, specifications, and applicable construction standards.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, details, schedules, RFIs, submittals, and change documentation. Practical understanding of concrete construction, earthwork, excavation, soils, compaction, piping, and other relevant civil construction activities. Knowledge of applicable construction safety requirements, including OSHA requirements.
Ability to identify construction quality, constructability, coordination, and execution concerns and clearly communicate them to project leadership. Ability to work independently in an active construction environment with limited supervision. Strong written communication and documentation skills, including preparation of clear, accurate daily inspection reports.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with contractors, engineers, owners, client representatives, and project teams. High school diploma or equivalent. OSHA 10-hour construction safety training or equivalent construction safety training.
