Bindery Operator

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Bindery Assistant to support production in a fast-paced printing and manufacturing environment. This role involves operating bindery equipment, maintaining workflow, and ensuring quality standards are met across production and fulfillment processes.

Key Responsibilities

Read and interpret work orders/job tickets for setup and production instructions Operate and maintain bindery equipment, including: Cutter machines (Polar, Seybold) MBO Folder machines Shrink-wrap equipment Inserter machines Perform machine setup, adjustments, and troubleshooting Follow startup, cleaning, and shutdown procedures Maintain workflow to meet production deadlines Track and report daily production and material usage Communicate equipment or order issues to leadership Support related departments including personalization, fulfillment, and shipping Follow all quality control (QC) and safety procedures Qualifications High school diploma or GED required 3–5 years of bindery or print production experience required Strong mechanical aptitude (testing may be required) Basic computer and data entry skills Intermediate math skills Strong attention to detail, reliability, and time management Ability to pass a color vision test Must be able to work overtime as needed EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER: Surge is an equal opportunity employer.
