Helper/Laborer

Description INTECH Process Automation is looking for an experienced Helper/Laborer to join our Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team . The successful candidate will provide general site support, material handling, housekeeping, and non-critical assistance to skilled personnel and work crews. Performs assigned tasks under direct supervision and does not undertake unsupervised safety-critical activities.

Key Responsibilities

Assist skilled workers with general construction, maintenance, instrumentation, civil, and site-support activities . Load, unload, move, and arrange materials, tools, equipment, and consumables safely. Support work crews with material preparation, tool handling, and basic site tasks under supervision. Perform routine housekeeping, cleaning, waste collection, and work-area organization .

Assist with preparation and restoration of work areas, access routes, barriers, and temporary protections . Use basic hand tools and equipment only as instructed and within assigned competency. Maintain proper storage and handling of materials, tools, consumables, and equipment . Assist with loading, unloading, manual handling, and material distribution while following safe lifting practices.

Report unsafe conditions, damaged tools, spills, hazards, or abnormal conditions to the supervisor. Follow supervisor instructions and support skilled technicians, tradesmen, and site crews as directed. Maintain cleanliness around instrumentation, ICSS, construction, maintenance, and facility work areas . Support barricading, signage, and work-area control under supervision.

Protect installed equipment, materials, cables, and facilities from damage or contamination . Participate in toolbox talks, site inductions, and safety briefings as required. Strictly comply with PTW, HSE, PPE, manual-handling, housekeeping, and Company requirements and perform no safety-critical work without proper authorization and supervision.

Requirements

Valid trade/competency certificate for the assigned grade and task; site authorization as required. Minimum 3 years’ experience in industrial construction/maintenance, including 1 year on Oil & Gas sites . Basic knowledge of site safety, material handling, housekeeping, and safe work practices . Ability to use basic hand tools safely under supervision.

Experience supporting construction, maintenance, civil, instrumentation, or general site activities . Ability to safely handle and transport materials, tools, equipment, and consumables . Good awareness of manual handling, lifting, housekeeping, access control, and work-area hazards . Ability to follow supervisor instructions, method statements, toolbox talks, and HSE requirements .

Physically capable of performing assigned manual work and site-support activities . Good teamwork and communication with skilled trades, supervisors, technicians, and other site personnel . Must not perform unsupervised safety-critical or skilled trade work outside assigned competency. Strong compliance with PTW, HSE, PPE, site rules, and Company requirements .
