Human Resources Generalist
Job description
JOB PURPOSE The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting a broad range of human resource functions, including employee relations, talent acquisition, benefits administration, leave management, performance management, compliance, and HR operations. This position serves as a resource to employees and leaders, helping to ensure consistent application of company policies, a positive employee experience, and compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Employee Relations & HR Support Serve as a resource to employees and supervisors regarding company policies, procedures, benefits, and employment-related matters. Assist with employee relations issues, disciplinary actions, performance concerns, and conflict resolution. Maintain confidentiality of all employee, company, and department information.
Support employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives. Onboarding & Employee Administration Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation programs. Ensure completion and compliance of all pre-employment and new hire documentation, including I-9 verification and E-Verify requirements. Prepare, maintain, and audit employee personnel files and onboarding records.
Benefits
& Leave Administration Administer employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans. Coordinate annual Open Enrollment activities and employee benefit communications. Process benefit enrollments, changes, terminations, and invoice reconciliations. Administer COBRA notifications and maintain related documentation.
Assist employees with questions regarding benefits, FMLA, ADA accommodations, and STD/LTD. Conduct periodic audits of benefit programs and records to ensure accuracy and compliance. Compliance & HR Administration Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Assist in the development, implementation, and communication of HR policies and procedures.
Process employee status changes, terminations, and related HR documentation. Maintain accurate employee records within HRIS and other company systems. Prepare reports and monitor HR metrics, attendance trends, turnover, and workforce data. Support audits and compliance initiatives as required. Process unemployment claims, hearings, and related correspondence.
Support continuous improvement initiatives within Human Resources. General Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Organization & Attention to Detail Maintains accuracy in records, reports, audits, and HR transactions. Effectively prioritizes workloads and meets deadlines. Demonstrates strong administrative and project coordination skills. HRIS & Data Management Maintains employee records, utilizes HR systems, and ensures data accuracy.
Technology Proficiency Proficient in HRIS platforms, ERP systems, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), and applicant tracking systems. Ability to learn and utilize new HR technologies and reporting tools efficiently. Experience with UKG, Global Shop ERP, or similar HR/payroll systems preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required Experience: 0-5 Years of Human Resources experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment. WORKING CONDITIONS Primary work will be conducted in an on-site office building located on a manufacturing site. Safety-sensitive position; subject to pre-employment and reasonable-suspicion drug testing
