We have a Full-time opportunity for Ophthalmic Technician based in our Hiawatha clinic. We are looking for a motivated candidate to join our team. Successful candidates will have a desire to learn in a fast-paced setting and the ability to positively interact and help patients while providing patient education and instructions. Interested candidates should be willing to work both independently and as a member of a team, provide excellent patient care, and perform patient workups in a precise and efficient manner.

Duties and Responsibilities

Document patient’s medical and ocular histories in electronic medical record. Perform patient workups. Complete diagnostic testing, such as retinoscopy, manual refraction, applanation A-scan, keratometry, tonometry, OCT’s and visual fields. Provide patient education according to physician instructions. Perform other duties as assigned.

Travel to other offices as needed. Knowledge and Qualifications: Medical office experience required. Ophthalmic testing experience preferred. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Experience providing excellent patient care. Demonstrated critical thinking skills with the ability to identify and communicate concerns regarding the results of diagnostic testing.
