Make a Difference with KDC Kennedy-Donovan Center (KDC) is seeking compassionate, dependable, and dedicated Adult Companions (1099 Independent Contractors) to provide companionship and non-medical support to adults with developmental disabilities and other support needs. The Adult Companion helps individuals maintain meaningful connections, participate in their communities, and enjoy greater independence through social engagement, recreational activities, and assistance with everyday routines. Position Details: Employment Classification: 1099 Independent Contractor Schedule: Flexible, based on individual needs and agreed-upon availability Location: Community-based throughout Milford / Uxbridge/ Blackstone Valley area Compensation: $22 / hour Key Responsibilities: Provide companionship, social interaction, and emotional support to adults receiving services. Encourage participation in recreational activities, hobbies, and community outings. Support individuals in developing and maintaining social connections and independence. Assist with everyday activities and routines as outlined in the individual's support plan. Promote individual choice, dignity, safety, and overall well-being. Maintain open communication with individuals, families, caregivers, and KDC program contacts. Follow applicable program guidelines, confidentiality requirements, and safety protocols. Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities, older adults, or individuals requiring additional support preferred. Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills. Compassionate, patient, dependable, and respectful of individual differences.

Ability to work independently and maintain professional boundaries. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the community, as applicable. Ability to successfully complete required background checks and applicable screenings.
