Crew Member – Grounds Maintenance

Position Overview

The Grounds Maintenance Crew Member is a hands-on landscaping position assisting with year-round residential and commercial landscape maintenance services across the Triangle.

Responsibilities

Assist the Crew Leader and train on all aspects of grounds maintenance Mowing, edging, trimming, blowing, and bed weeding on residential and commercial routes Digging, planting, raking, watering, and general clean-up of landscapes Hedge trimming and seasonal leaf and debris cleanup Load and unload equipment and planting materials from trucks and trailers Ensure collection and inventory of company-owned equipment and tools daily Assist with enhancement and installation projects as needed Maintain reliable transportation to and from the shop Ensure the safe operation and basic routine maintenance of the following equipment: Mowers: Push, walk-behind, and ride-on mowers Turf Equipment: Tillers, aerators, and seeders Power Tools: Edgers, string trimmers, chainsaws, backpack blowers, sprayers Hand Tools: Shovels, picks, rakes, and pruning tools Compensation and Benefits Competitive hourly pay based on experience Paid time off Consistent, full-time hours on set weekly routes Opportunity to grow into a Crew Leader role as we expand Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis Ability to bend and stoop on a continual basis Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions Ability to work around environmental risks such as bees, poison ivy, pollen, and thorns Ability to work with minimal supervision Must wear sturdy shoes, company-issued uniforms, and required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Must present oneself in a professional and polite manner to clients and the public Must practice strict safety protocols when handling chemicals and operating equipment Must wear provided eye and ear protection as required Valid NC driver's license with a clean driving record preferred Must be able to pass a criminal background check Good communication skills and a team-first attitude Must comply with all Nature First Landscaping policies and procedures About Nature First Nature First Landscaping is a growing, locally owned company based in Wake Forest serving residential and commercial clients across the Triangle.
