Unarmed Security Officer

Help Maintain Safe, Orderly Environments in Fredericksburg Enterprise Security Services Corporation is seeking dependable and attentive Unarmed Security Officers to support security operations at client properties in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and surrounding service areas. This opportunity is suited to individuals who can remain alert throughout their shift, communicate respectfully with the public, and follow established security procedures. Previous security experience is beneficial, but qualified applicants who are new to the field are encouraged to apply. What You’ll Be Responsible For Maintain an attentive security presence at assigned client locations.

Conduct routine foot patrols and observe buildings, entrances, parking areas, and other designated spaces. Monitor access points and assist visitors with directions or site-related questions. Recognize and report suspicious behavior, unauthorized access, safety hazards, and unusual activity. Respond appropriately to incidents and emergencies while following site-specific instructions.

Notify supervisors, management, or emergency services when circumstances require escalation. Prepare clear and accurate daily activity logs and incident reports. Follow company policies, client requirements, and instructions provided by supervisory personnel. Candidate Qualifications Applicants should demonstrate the following: Meet the applicable age and eligibility requirements for Virginia unarmed security work.

Hold the required Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) registration, or be prepared to complete the applicable training and registration process in accordance with Virginia requirements. Successfully complete required background screening. Communicate clearly and interact professionally with clients, visitors, and coworkers.

Maintain good observation skills and exercise sound judgment. Be able to stand, walk, and remain attentive for extended periods. Have reliable transportation to reach assigned work locations, including when assignments vary. New to security? Applicants without prior industry experience may be considered. Training and registration steps will depend on the applicant’s current qualifications and applicable Virginia requirements.

Scheduling and Work Assignments Security coverage may include: Daytime, evening, or overnight shifts. Weekday and weekend assignments. Holiday coverage when required by the client. Different client locations based on staffing and operational needs. Applicants should be comfortable discussing their availability and potential assignments with the recruiting team.

Compensation

Uniform and Equipment Officers are expected to maintain a neat, professional appearance and comply with the uniform standards for their assigned post. A Class A black uniform may be required, and applicants should be prepared to obtain the required uniform unless otherwise advised. Radios or other job-related communication equipment may be issued depending on the assignment.
