Veterinary Assistant

Staples Mills Animal Hospital is seeking an experiencedVeterinary Assistant to join our team! This is an excellent opportunity for outgoing assistants with a strong background in patient care and handling, who thrive on building meaningful connections with clients and their pets.

In this role, you will:

• Ensure an efficient exam room workflow and review treatment plans and discharge instructions with clients, answering questions with empathy and clarity.
• Provide exceptional patient and client care through gentle patient handling and restraint during exams, procedures, and treatments.
• Assist with surgical setup and patient preparation, supporting the team through procedures and recovery.
• Support the veterinarians and technicians in performing radiology, phlebotomy, medication administration, and laboratory sample collection.
• Assist with inpatient care, monitoring hospitalized patients and anticipating team needs to ensure the highest level of care.
• Maintain accurate, detailed medical records.

This position is ideal for team members who excel in client engagement and schedule management while delivering exceptional care and communication.

Schedule: This is a full-timeposition, with a5 x 8 scheduleand availability neededMonday-Fridayonly -NO WEEKENDS!

Full-time benefits and compensation:**

• Compensation: $21 - 27 per hour, for each hour worked*
• Bonus package: $500 for those with 3+ years of consecutive, current experience

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• 3+years of experience in aveterinary assistant, animal care, kennel assistant, or related rolepreferred

• Proficiency in the following skills (required):

• Gentle patient handling & restraint

• Radiology

• Surgery setup & assisting

• Phlebotomy & SQ Injections

• Laboratory sample collection

• Inpatient care
