Prairie View High School, a 27J school located in Henderson, CO Contract: 11-month contract Compensation: Based on the JSIPS pay scale Anticipated Interview Timeline: November 2026- About Prairie View High School Prairie View High School (PVHS) is seeking a certified Navy, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard officer who is passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of high school students.

Located just a few miles northwest of Denver International Airport, PVHS offers convenient access to the Denver metropolitan area and the Rocky Mountains. The region provides abundant outdoor recreation opportunities, including world-class skiing, hunting, camping, fishing, kayaking, golfing, horseback riding, mountain biking, and hiking.

The Denver area also offers a diverse cultural environment with a wide range of professional sports, music, theater, and entertainment options. PVHS serves approximately 1,700 students and benefits from strong district, staff, and student support for its NJROTC program. The 27J School District operates on a four-day school week, with students attending school Tuesday through Friday.

About the NJROTC Program Prairie View High School's NJROTC program is in its 4th year and is very active and engaged, participating in competitions, community service projects, and leadership development events throughout the year. The program emphasizes discipline, citizenship, leadership, and teamwork while providing opportunities for students to develop skills in areas such as drill, academics, physical training, color guard, and Cyber.

Patriot. The unit continues to grow and was recently recognized with the Unit Achievement Award . The successful candidate will collaborate with and support our existing instructor, Gy. Sgt Jerry Benally, in continuing to strengthen the program, expand student opportunities, and promote leadership development.

Qualifications

and Application Process Prior NJROTC instructional experience is preferred; however, all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply. Eligible candidates must meet the following requirements: Be a retired or honorably served Navy, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard officer. Hold a rank between CWO2 and O-6. Have a minimum of eight years of active-duty service.
