As a Respiratory Care Assistant (RCA) , you’ll be part of a team that’s deeply committed to delivering exceptional care to the patients within our community.
What You’ll Do: As an RCA, you’ll work under the direct supervision of a licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) and support our respiratory therapy team in delivering safe, effective, and compassionate care. You’ll gain hands-on experience while continuing your education in a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) -approved program.
Your responsibilities
Administering breathing treatments and supplemental oxygen therapy Assisting with patient assessments and documentation Operating and setting up respiratory equipment Performing procedures such as aerosol therapy, MDI administration, incentive spirometry, airway clearance therapy, and chest physiotherapy with suctioning Supporting arterial puncture and electrocardiograms (if applicable) Recording patient data in our medical record system Department Description Serving the community since 1961, Wake.
