Instructional Assistant Mild/Mod - SPED Reading Intervention

Job Summary

Under general supervision, this entry-level technical instructional assistant (IA) position provides instructional support and services to students with mild to moderate disabilities. The IA typically works in a classroom setting, supporting students in general education who are on a 504 or Individualized Education Program (IEP).

The role may involve assisting with academic and behavioral support in various subjects and activities, including but not limited to math, English Language Arts (ELA), playground supervision, physical education (P.E.), and music. Job Description / Essential Elements Under supervision of the principal, and as directed by a certificated employee, assists in performing a variety of instructional activities for students in assigned areas, provides a variety of clerical and supportive tasks for teachers and students and does related work as required.

Requirements

/ Qualifications You may be interviewed by various schools but will only be hired to work at one school. MUST ATTACH PROOF OF:

• Passing the CBEST, or
• Having completed two years of college (48 units), or
• An AA degree or higher, or
• Must have passed the District proficiency exam in mathematics, reading, and writing prior to the job posting closing date, if you are using this for education requirements.
