Job Summary

The Project SEARCH Instructor provides instructional and program support across multiple Project SEARCH sites to ensure continuity of services during planned or unplanned staff absences, vacancies, or periods of increased program need. This role delivers the Project SEARCH employability skills curriculum, reinforces learning at internship sites, and collaborates with interns, host business staff, families, and interdisciplinary team members to promote skill development and successful competitive integrated employment outcomes.

The Floating Instructor must be adaptable, organized, and able to quickly build positive working relationships in a variety of settings.

Responsibilities

Deliver the Project SEARCH employability skills curriculum in a classroom setting. Reinforce instruction within internship sites to build strong work habits and transferable job skills. Identify and coordinate internship rotations that promote measurable skill development. Facilitate Employment Planning Meetings with interns, families, and team members.

Monitor intern progress using assessment tools and adjust instruction as needed. Supervise and coordinate Skills Trainers to meet intern support needs. Collaborate with the Business Liaison and employment staff to secure competitive employment opportunities. Assist with recruitment and participate in IEP/IP meetings as appropriate.

Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and Member Portal updates. Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning and work environment. Attend Steering Committee meetings and the annual Project SEARCH Conference.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Behavioral Science, or related field required (Teaching Credential preferred). Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with individuals with disabilities or at-risk populations. Experience teaching or training young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.

Strong instructional, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to differentiate instruction and apply best practices in transition and supported employment. Collaborative mindset with strong problem-solving abilities. Proficiency with technology for instruction, documentation, and communication. Valid driver's license; ability to operate agency vehicles if needed.
