Job description
Backend Architect We’re looking for a Backend Architect to build the foundational infrastructure for an AI-powered multimodal learning platform for K12 students. You’ll design and implement scalable backend systems that support conversational AI, voice integration, gamification, community features, and real-time analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop APIs for content management, gamification (badges, leaderboards, challenges), and peer competition
- Implement voice (STT/TTS) and OCR service integrations
- Build real-time dashboards and reporting systems for students, parents, and institutions
- Design scalable database architecture for user data, content, analytics, and community features
- Ensure data privacy, security, and compliance with educational data standards
- Optimize for performance under high concurrent users across web and mobile platforms Required Skills
- 2+ years backend development experience (Node.js, Python, or Java)
- Strong API design experience
- Database expertise (PostgreSQL/MySQL + MongoDB/Redis)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure)
- Understanding of authentication, security, and data privacy best practices
