As we continue to grow, we are looking for a: Legal & Compliance Officer City: Skopje Role Summary: The Legal & Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that the company's operations in North Macedonia are conducted in compliance with applicable laws, licence conditions, regulatory requirements and internal policies.
The role provides legal support across the business, manages relationships with regulators and external counsel and advises management on legal, compliance, governance and risk-related matters.
Responsibilities
Draft, review, negotiate and manage a broad range of commercial contracts (including lease, supplier, technology, marketing, sponsorship, service and business cooperation agreements), while maintaining contract records and monitoring key obligations. Provide practical legal advice on day-to-day business, corporate governance, transactions, employment, intellectual property, disputes and regulatory matters, including legal opinions and risk assessments.
Act as the main liaison with external legal counsel, coordinating legal support and managing legal budgets efficiently. Monitor and interpret gambling, AML/CFT, consumer protection, advertising, data protection and other applicable regulations, ensuring ongoing compliance with licensing requirements. Lead the implementation of new regulatory requirements, coordinate inspections and audits and maintain compliance policies, procedures, controls and risk assessments.
Review marketing activities, support responsible gambling, KYC and due diligence processes and manage relationships with regulators and competent authorities. Support compliance with data protection legislation and GDPR-equivalent requirements, including policies, processing records, impact assessments and awareness initiatives.
Coordinate responses to privacy-related requests, data subject rights, complaints and other regulatory obligations. Coordinate responses to regulatory inquiries, inspections, investigations and requests from public authorities. Manage legal proceedings and disputes, including case administration, monitoring deadlines and preparing submissions and supporting documentation.
Prepare legal and compliance reports, deliver training and awareness initiatives and ensure timely escalation of material legal and regulatory risks. Collaborate closely with regional and group legal, compliance, risk, finance, operations, IT, marketing and product teams to support business objectives. Zahtevi Qualifications: University degree in Law.
Minimum 5 years of relevant legal and/or compliance experience. Experience in regulated industries is preferred; experience in gaming, betting, fintech, financial services, or similar sectors is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of North Macedonian legal and regulatory framework. Excellent drafting, negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast changing and dynamic environment. Professional working proficiency in English.
