Gifted Teacher Position Title: Gifted Teacher Location: Kosciusko Junior High School Reports To: Principal Employment Type: Full-Time, 10-Month Contract Salary: Based on district salary scale and experience Position Overview: Kosciusko Junior High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Gifted Teacher to join our dynamic team of educators.

The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a supportive learning environment where all students feel encouraged and challenged to reach their full potential. This teacher will be responsible for delivering instruction aligned with state standards, assessing student progress, and collaborating with colleagues and families to ensure student success.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that align with Mississippi College- and Career-Readiness Standards. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners. Utilize formative and summative assessments to monitor student learning and inform instruction. Foster a positive, respectful classroom environment that promotes academic achievement and social-emotional growth.

Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance data. Communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff regarding student progress and classroom expectations. Participate in professional learning communities to enhance teaching practices and school improvement. Integrate technology to enhance student learning and engagement.

Implement classroom management strategies that support a safe and productive learning environment. Attend and actively participate in faculty meetings, parent conferences, professional development, and school events.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field (Master's preferred). Valid Mississippi teaching license with appropriate gifted certification (207). Demonstrated knowledge of child development and effective instructional strategies. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Proficiency in integrating technology and data-driven instruction.
