Software Engineer
Job description
This role combines hands-on embedded software development with system-level validation, customer enablement, technical training, and application support. The engineer will create production-quality firmware, reference software, evaluation tools, demonstration platforms, and customer-facing content that accelerate product adoption and reduce integration effort.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working across the full customer journey, from early technology evaluation and proof-of-concept development to technical documentation, training, and deployment support. The position requires close collaboration with product management, systems engineering, applications engineering, and global customers.
Key Responsibilities
Develop embedded firmware and reference software for semiconductor products and evaluation platforms. Design and maintain software drivers, middleware, APIs, and software development kits (SDKs). Develop customer-facing GUIs, configuration tools, demonstration applications, and automation utilities. Create software examples and reference implementations that simplify customer integration.
Validate hardware and software solutions through system-level testing and use-case development. Generate technical collateral including application notes, user guides, quick-start guides, training material, demonstrations, and support content. Support customer design-in activities, troubleshooting, debugging, and issue resolution.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and customer workflows. Contribute to technical training for customers, field engineers, partners, and distributors. Support trade shows, demonstrations, customer visits, and technology evaluations. Desired Qualifications BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Strong C/C++ embedded software development experience. Experience with microcontrollers, embedded Linux, or real-time operating systems. Experience with communication interfaces such as USB, USB Power Delivery, I²C, SPI, UART, Ethernet, or similar protocols. Experience developing software drivers, SDKs, or middleware.
Experience developing desktop or web-based GUIs and customer tools. Experience with Python or other scripting languages for automation and testing. Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across hardware and software domains. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Lead a team of software engineers delivering embedded software, drivers, GUIs, algorithms, and customer enablement tools.
Define software development priorities, roadmaps, and execution plans. Coordinate creation of technical collateral, training content, and demonstration platforms. Drive software quality, architecture, and development best practices. Partner with global engineering, applications, and product management teams to align solutions with customer needs.
