Certified Scrub Technician Location: Chesapeake (Carmichael), VA, 23322 Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Certified Scrub Technician to join our surgical team in Chesapeake (Carmichael), VA. The ideal candidate will assist surgeons and operating room staff by preparing and maintaining a sterile environment during surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and efficient workflow.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile drapes. Assist surgeons and surgical staff during procedures by passing instruments and supplies as needed. Maintain strict adherence to sterile techniques and infection control protocols. Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and accounted for before and after procedures.

Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate needs and respond promptly during surgeries. Document surgical procedures and maintain accurate records as required. Participate in inventory management and restocking of surgical supplies. Comply with all hospital policies, safety regulations, and quality standards.

Qualifications

Current certification as a Scrub Technician (CST) or equivalent. Previous experience in a surgical or operating room environment preferred. Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical instrumentation. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional healthcare-related education is a plus. Work Environment This position is based in Chesapeake (Carmichael), VA, within a hospital or surgical center setting. The role requires standing for extended periods and working closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide optimal patient care.
