Material Handling Supervisor Abilene, KS Land Pride, a division of Great Plains Manufacturing, is seeking a 1 st Shift Material Handling Supervisor to join our team at our Abilene West facility in Abilene, KS. In this role, you will supervise incoming and outgoing shipments and the activities of workers engaged in lifting, transporting, storing, and loading materials and products by use of conveyors, cranes, hoists, or industrial trucks.

This is an hourly position that works 1st Shift, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., plus occasional overtime as required. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Supervise incoming and outgoing movement of raw materials, maintain inventory accuracy, report of warehousing space available, and other records to meet material handling requirements to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.

Monitor material handling equipment for defects and notify maintenance personnel or contacts outside service facility for repair. Supervise movement of shipments from receiving platform to storage and work areas. Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Report changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew to department manager.

Store and retrieve material handling data using computer. Interface with other departments to ensure deadlines are met. Operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products. Lift heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, and clean work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators.

Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on cases, bales, or other containers. Count, weigh, and record number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet or computer while maintaining accurate inventory quantities. Convey materials from storage or work sites to designated area.

Work closely with all Department leaders to ensure all parts are delivered to correct location in timely manner. Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment. Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.

Preferred Skills
