Description: Full-time Special Education Teacher for Highland Middle School SDEP (Social Developmental and Education Program) grades 7-8 Job Summary: Applicants must be willing to: Learn and implement a comprehensive system (including a Point system and a therapeutic component) for promoting student behavioral success.

Be trained in the structure of the SDEP program and ACT therapy by the district's Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Collect and upload student behavior data to the BCBA. Collect, organize, and use data to drive decision-making for academics and behavior. Consult with the Director of Special Services, Principal, and BCBA on a regular basis to maintain programming integrity and functionality.

Individualize lessons and deliver instruction to students with a variety of academic and behavioral needs. Receive training and be prepared to use CPI de-escalation techniques when necessary. Learn and use online IEP software and write IEPs according to state and district guidelines. Manage and work collaboratively with paraprofessionals (program assistants and individual care aides).

Contribute to and support school improvement initiatives. Work collaboratively with administration and related service staff (counselor, social worker, nurse, etc.) in order to deliver service to students.
