• Company match 6% The Mc. Nay Art Museum is seeking vigilant and dedicated Control Room Officer to join our Security team for the AM Shift. In this essential role, you will safeguard our visitors, staff, and world-class art collection from a centralized, high-tech Control Room while performing crucial security groundwork across our campus.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor high-resolution CCTV feeds, assess potential security threats, and manage authorized access to restricted back-of-house areas. Field Patrols: Conduct outdoor foot and golf-cart patrols of museum grounds in all weather conditions; check for structural risks (leaks, open entryways, or safety hazards). Emergency Response: Direct facility evacuations, coordinate critical communications during incidents, and assist with or summon medical aid when needed.

Operations & Reports: Author detailed, timestamped incident reports and provide operational relief coverage for Gallery Services Officers. Job Requirements Age & Education: Must be at least 21 years old with a High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience: 1–2 years of professional security or asset protection experience.

(Experience in cultural institutions, museums, or luxury retail is a plus!) Licenses: A valid driver’s license with reliable transit, and the ability to obtain a Level II Texas Security License. Certifications: Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to complete training immediately upon hire). Screenings: Must pass a comprehensive background check and a pre-employment physical (including eyesight and hearing evaluations).

Physical & Schedule Demands Physical Fitness: Ability to stand/sit for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and sprint or climb stairs rapidly during an active emergency. Sharp Focus: Proven ability to maintain strict alertness during extended stretches of camera monitoring. Total Flexibility: Willingness to work variable shifts—including nights, weekends, and holidays—and stay on-site during severe weather or emergencies as essential personnel.
