ORGANIZATION SUMMARY World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world’s greatest crises in partnership with the church. The organization was founded in the aftermath of World War II to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs of war-torn Europe. Since then, for 80 years, across 100 countries, World Relief has partnered with local churches and communities to build a world where families thrive and communities flourish.
Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy.
POSITION SUMMARY
World Relief is seeking a Media Relations Coordinator. This role is responsible for supporting the Director of Media Relations by facilitating World Relief’s earned media presence, supporting external-facing writing projects and conducting relevant research and outreach. They help obtain strategic exposure for World Relief and its programs through informing and responding to the media.
Primary responsibilities include staying attuned to organizational milestones, developing pitches, regularly interacting with members of the press, coordinating interviews and building a steady cadence of media placements. The Media Relations Coordinator is expected to remain updated on current events and news as they identify unique opportunities for World Relief within the news cycle.
Work Location: Remote, preference for proximity to Washington, D.C Travel: 5-10%
