Graphic & Web Designer
Job description
An exciting opportunity has come up for a Graphic & Web Designer with strong technical skills to join the team at Performance Beef Breeders (PBB). We’re a small, close-knit team providing genetics, registry and operational services to New Zealand beef breed societies and the breeders they represent. We’re owned by the societies we serve, which means our work is direct and makes a visible difference to the people who use it.
Our design work is delivered under the Pivot Design brand, helping breed societies, breeders and other small businesses present themselves strongly, both online and in print. We’re looking for a versatile designer with around three or more years of hands-on experience who combines a good creative eye with technical confidence.
You’ll be comfortable working autonomously, solving problems and taking work from brief through to delivery. Our systems may be new to you, but you’ll bring practical experience with WordPress, confidence working with Hub. Spot or similar CRM and marketing tools, and an interest in how these systems work together. Hands-on experience with website security, including managing user access, applying updates, maintaining backups and identifying and escalating security issues, would be an advantage, but isn’t essential.
Being proactive is key to success in this role. Our customers are passionate, highly knowledgeable breeders who care deeply about how their stud and their breed are presented. You’ll anticipate requests, keep people informed and build strong relationships through great communication. As part of a small team, you’ll also be happy to pitch in and support your colleagues wherever needed.
Day to day, you’ll build, update and maintain WordPress websites, working with layouts, content, plugins and forms, troubleshooting issues and keeping on top of routine performance and security checks. You’ll also build and maintain Hub. Spot email campaigns, landing pages and forms, check that they work as intended, and help keep contact and company records accurate.
Alongside this, you’ll design print and digital collateral such as brochures, sale catalogues, reports, event material, social graphics, signage and presentations. A rural background is a bonus, but not essential. You’ll be confident handling clients and managing expectations, bringing resilience and sound judgement when it counts.
This is a full-time role based in Feilding. If you enjoy combining creative work with hands-on technical problem-solving and seeing your work make a real impact, we would love to hear from you! Contact Kelly on 021 560 172 or [email protected] to find out more about the role and what we do at PBB.
