Medical Radiation Technologist I

Based at the Sheldon M. Chumir Health Centre, you will contribute to timely patient diagnosis and care in a high-volume setting. Sheldon M. Chumir Health Centre is a busy urban urgent care site where Diagnostic Imaging is integral to patient flow and clinical decision-making. This position requires flexibility to meet operational requirements, including cross-modality coverage. Description: As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) I, you will perform a variety of standard technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis.

You will interpret physician requisitions, prepare and assess patients for examination and produce high quality diagnostic images for Physician/Radiologist review, and assist with the care and maintenance of equipment. Your work may include a variety of procedures such as general and portable radiography, mobile and surgical suite examinations, as well as fluoroscopy where required.

Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications: Demonstrated competency in general radiography. CT competency or willingness to obtain within an established timeframe.

Proven ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team. Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills. Ability to adapt to a high-volume, fast-paced clinical environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Recent experience in both X-ray and CT. Experience in urgent care or acute care environments. Familiarity with PACS, RIS, and Connect Care. Demonstrated flexibility and a commitment to cross-modality practice. Completion of CT Imaging Certification (CTIC).
