Position: Director of Web Experience Department: AE Creative Services Reporting to: Executive Creative Director Location: Topeka, KS

• Onsite Overview: What if you could help financial advisors grow their businesses through better websites? At Advisors Excel, our web team creates and maintains websites for financial advisors across the country, along with our corporate websites. We’re looking for a Director of Web Experience to lead the team responsible for these websites, guiding the strategy, user experience, development, and processes behind them. You’ll have the opportunity to shape our web capabilities, empower a talented team, and ensure the websites we deliver do more than look great—they help advisors connect with prospective clients, generate leads, and grow their businesses. What you’ll do: Lead Website Strategy: Set the vision, priorities, and roadmap for advisor and corporate websites, ensuring our web solutions meet business needs and deliver a consistent, high-quality experience. Oversee Website Development and Experience: Guide website design and development, with a focus on usability, responsive design, accessibility, brand consistency, and overall quality. Drive Advisor Business Results: Ensure advisor websites do more than look great—they serve as effective business development tools that generate leads, engage prospective clients, and support advisors’ growth. Use website performance data and user behavior to identify opportunities for improvement and increase website effectiveness. Develop and Empower the Team: Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary team across web design, development, and operations. Foster collaboration, accountability, shared ownership, and continuous improvement. Improve Web Operations: Strengthen workflows for website requests, prioritization, resource planning, quality assurance, and ongoing maintenance to improve efficiency and service delivery. Guide Platforms and Innovation: Shape web platform strategy and partner with technical teams to evaluate improvements, platform migrations, reusable components, automation, and AI-enabled workflows. Partner Across the Organization: Collaborate with Digital Marketing, Strategic Communications, Corporate Account Management, IT, and other teams to translate business needs into effective website solutions for advisors and AE. Experience you’ll bring: 7+ years of experience in web development, website strategy, digital experience, or a related field. Strong design judgment and understanding of website usability, responsive design, accessibility, information architecture, and digital brand standards. Ability to connect website strategy and development priorities to business needs and user requirements. Experience improving workflows, prioritization, quality standards, capacity management, or cross-functional decision-making. Familiarity with website platforms and tools such as WordPress, Webflow, Figma, High. Level, or comparable technologies. Working knowledge of content management systems, web development processes, forms, integrations, hosting considerations, analytics, and technical SEO. Strong communication, problem-solving, change leadership, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to establish direction, navigate ambiguity, and guide decisions across creative, technical, and business teams. Bonus Points: Experience leading a multidisciplinary web, website development, user experience, or integrated creative function. Experience managing a large portfolio of websites or supporting website solutions for multiple clients, businesses, or locations. Experience in financial services, an agency, a software-as-a-service environment, a franchise organization, or a multi-location business. Experience with website platform migrations, design systems, reusable components, automation, or AI-enabled web workflows. Experience improving website performance, usability, accessibility, and ongoing optimization. Experience leading web initiatives in a complex or regulated environment.
