The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.

The Regional and Specialist team includes Integrated Specialist Services, Mental Health and Wellbeing Services, Primary Healthcare Services, Birthing and Early Childhood Services (South), and Child and Youth Services. About the Role? As General Practitioner – Pamela Mam Health Centre, your role is responsible for the provision of General Practitioner services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and families as part of a multi-disciplinary team of medical and health staff, within the operational framework of an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled Health Service.

Your day to day duties may include: Contribute to the maintenance of high-quality information in electronic record systems. Utilise patient information and recall systems to support individual client care and identify population health needs and gaps in service delivery. Establish and maintain strong linkages with other health providers in the area to ensure optimum coordination of care and advocacy for the client base.

Oversee the delivery of comprehensive preventive health assessments for clients across the age spectrum and provide leadership for the multidisciplinary team in delivery of coordinated care planning for clients with complex chronic care needs. Optimise referral pathways to specialist and allied health services for clients; work closely with the Practice Manager and service team to anticipate and identify opportunities for expanding access to these services for clients.

About You? Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD). AHPRA Registration. Current Medical Indemnity Insurance. Bachelor of Medicine. Specialist GP Recognition / Vocational Registration. MBBS and Unconditional registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Current CPR Certificate. Desirable, but not mandatory: Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities What Can we Offer?
