Electrical Designer

BR+A provides state-of-the-art integrated and coordinated mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection consulting engineering, technology systems design, lighting design, and building commissioning services. BR+A is looking for an Electrical Designer in our Raleigh, NC office. The ideal candidate will be strongly motivated, well organized, and show professional initiative as well as have the ability to take ownership of assignments and perform well both independently and as part of the project team.

Responsibilities

Providing Engineering, Design work and drafting of plans Implementing approved system concepts from a schematic diagram to floor plans Sketching rough layouts to review with Project Engineer/Project Manager Reviewing product cut sheets and technical information Communicating with Project Manager/Project Engineer regarding potential problems Submitting the required documentation per project deadlines and milestones Attending in-house coordination meetings when appropriate Developing a strategy to meet the projects’ schedule Assisting in the development of engineering systems concepts (M/E) Assisting the design team on major design issues Organizing required technical correspondence, emails, and calculations Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit EIT (Engineer in Training) 3-10 years of experience Good understanding of engineering concepts, design, and spatial requirements Excellent organizational and communication skills Proactive and collaborative team member Experience in designing Healthcare, Commercial, Higher Education or Laboratory projects is preferred BR+A is a place to learn, to grow, and to work hard for our clients – all while being a part of something bigger.
