Labourer Workshop

We are seeking a motivated Labourer to join our CNC welding and fitting shopfloor department. The role involves hands‑on support for machining activities, safe movement of components, and operating a forklift to transport skips and pallets. The successful candidate will work closely with welders, fitters and engineers to maintain a tidy, efficient and hazard‑free environment.

Operate a forklift safely to move skips, pallets and large components across the shopfloor. Assist welders and fitters with positioning and handling of workpieces. Load and unload CNC machines, ensuring correct placement and securing of parts. Maintain clear aisles and work areas by removing debris and empty skips promptly.

Support routine shop cleaning, waste segregation and housekeeping tasks. Carry out basic manual handling duties, including lifting and transporting tools and materials. Report any safety hazards, equipment faults or near‑miss incidents to supervisors immediately. Follow all company health, safety and environmental procedures at all times.

Assist in inventory checks and stock replenishment of consumables and fasteners. Participate in shift hand‑over briefings and provide updates on ongoing tasks. Valid forklift licence (Category 1 or 2) and proven experience operating a forklift in an industrial setting. Hands‑on experience in a workshop or manufacturing environment, preferably within CNC welding/fitting.

Good understanding of health and safety regulations and a commitment to safe working practices. Physical fitness to perform manual handling tasks and stand for extended periods. Basic numeracy and ability to complete simple inventory records. Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team. Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic.
