Director of Medical Imaging

• Oneida, NY, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: $120000.00 - $145000.00Salary, Job Shift: Days, Job Summary: The Director of Medical Imaging is responsible for planning, organizing and leading the overall operation of the Medical Imaging Department, to include system-wide responsibility for all inpatient and outpatient imaging services. Services include X-Ray, Mammography, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, PET/CT, and Interventional Radiology. Provides leadership to ensure the highest quality service, while maximizing opportunities for department growth and efficiency. Assures competency of all personnel and manages staff and utilization of resources to meet financial and productivity standards, quality standards, and strategic goals of the department and hospital. Prepares and manages the department budget. Ensures compliance with all state, federal, and local regulatory laws and accrediting body standards and protocols. Collaborates effectively with system leadership and medical staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Develops and implements department protocols and policies/procedures in conjunction with the Medical Director of Imaging Services.
• Develops goals and objectives for diagnostic imaging services and establishes plans to accomplish responsibilities.
• Develops and implements a productive QI/QA program to ensure patient safety, regulatory compliance, and equipment maintenance.
• Corresponds with state and federal agencies regarding rules and regulations and responds with appropriate course of action when necessary.
• Serves on committees as needed to promote quality care and excellent customer service
• Provides and manages appropriate staffing, including recruitment and hiring in collaboration with Human Resources.
• Leads the implementation of strategic growth initiatives related to imaging services including, but not limited to, equipment selection/purchase, space design/management and design/implementation of service delivery models.
• Responsible for all aspects of financial budgeting for all imaging modalities. This includes development and execution of operational budget, capital budget and productivity management for all modalities.
• Manages and maintains PACS/RIS function within the department
• Responsible for external and internal customer satisfaction through daily rounding, visibility within assigned unit and any other necessary means.
• Monitors market needs and trends to enhance market share
• Creates reports presenting statistical data collected Qualifications: Education:
• Bachelor's Degree in healthcare related field preferred Certifications:
• ARRT Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist
• NYS license and current Registration required. Experience:
• 5 – 7 years of progressive leadership experience in Radiology required.
