Job description
Define overall migration strategy, approach, scope, and success criteria based on business goals and technical requirements. Engage with senior stakeholders and business units to align migration objectives with organizational strategy. Assess legacy environments, identify technical dependencies, and plan appropriate sequencing and scheduling of migration activities.
Lead end-to-end project lifecycle management: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of migration initiatives. Develop detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resourcing plans. Coordinate activities across internal teams (IT, Security, Infrastructure, Application Development, Data Engineering) and third-party vendors.
Manage the execution of the migration process — including environment provisioning, data extraction and transformation, application re-platforming, or infrastructure replacement. Lead migration dry runs, pilot migrations, and full production cutovers. Ensure validation and reconciliation processes are in place before, during, and after migration.
Lead incident response and recovery planning in case of failed migrations or postmigration issues. Identify, track, and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies. Enforce quality assurance processes and compliance with IT governance, security, privacy, and regulatory requirements. Ensure business continuity planning is integrated into migration strategies.
Act as the central point of contact for all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Prepare and present status reports, dashboards, and post-migration reviews for executive leadership. Facilitate change management and end-user communication, training, and support during transition periods.
