UPPER SCHOOL: GIRLS GOLF – VARSITY HEAD COACH Pace Academy is an independent college preparatory school in Atlanta, Ga., with an enrollment of 1,115 students in Pre-First through 12th grade. Pace actively seeks candidates from historically underrepresented populations. Pace is hiring a Varsity head coach for the Upper School girls golf team for the 2026-2027 fall season. This position reports to the Director of Athletics. WORK HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS: A part-time, early-August to early-October season appointment.
On/off-campus responsibilities include off-campus practices and weekday matches for 2-3 hours on Mondays and/or Tuesdays and/or Wednesdays and/or Thursdays. All coaches are employed on an annual basis and continued employment is based on season review conducted. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The head coach is responsible for supporting various aspects of the golf program, including driving the team to practices/matches.
The coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Pace Academy and Georgia High School Association (GHSA). REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Possess and maintain a coaching philosophy that is in accordance with the mission of Pace Academy A strong commitment to the student-athlete concept Golf experience and understanding of the USGA rules of golf/basic etiquette Effective leadership and coaching skills Good communication skills with players, parents and the Athletics Department Energy, creativity, self-motivation and a team-player mentality SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Drive golf team to practices, if needed; organize pairings for practice; supervise/evaluate player performance/etiquette during practice sessions/qualifying rounds (grades 9-12) Collaborate with the assistant coach and supervise the team at events Represent Pace Academy and the golf program in a professional manner and within the bounds of good sportsmanship This is a temporary, seasonal position that is compensated with a coaching stipend.
