Job description

BACKGROUND: Since 1952, Beacon Group has been creating opportunities for people with disabilities across Southern Arizona, Phoenix and beyond. As a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, Beacon serves over 2,000 people with disabilities each year. Beacon provides job training and placement, supported employment, and day treatment programs to assist nearly two-thirds of working-age people with disabilities who do not have a job.

As a Beacon employee, you can be a part of delivering our mission and improving the lives of people with disabilities. POSITION INTRODUCTION: Beacon Group is seeking a motivated and relationship-focused Development Manager to help diversify and grow the organization's fundraising revenue across Arizona. The Development Manager will plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising initiatives spanning annual giving, major gifts, endowment development, planned and legacy giving, special events, and capital campaigns.

This position is responsible for supporting and executing fundraising strategies that cultivate, solicit, steward, and retain individual, corporate, foundation, and community supporters. Success in this role requires strong relationship-building abilities, strategic thinking, persuasive communication skills, data-informed decision-making, project management expertise, and a commitment to advancing employment and opportunities for people with disabilities.

The Development Manager serves as a key ambassador for Beacon Group, building meaningful connections with donors, community partners, businesses, volunteers, and stakeholders. IDEAL CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate is an outgoing relationship builder and hands-on fundraiser who enjoys connecting people and organizations with a meaningful mission.

This individual should be comfortable both developing new fundraising ideas and doing the practical work required to turn those ideas into results. Because this is a newly created position, the Development Manager will have an opportunity to help shape Beacon Group's fundraising strategy and infrastructure. Success will require initiative, creativity, persistence, strong community engagement skills, and the ability to build long-term relationships that generate sustainable support for Beacon Group's programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience. Three or more years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising, nonprofit development, donor relations, community engagement or a related field. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with donors, prospective donors, corporate partners, community leaders, and other external stakeholders.

Experience with donor cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, fundraising campaigns, special events, sponsorships, or other revenue-generating development activities. Experience using a donor CRM or constituent-management database to document relationships, manage prospects, track fundraising activity, and analyze results.

WORK HOURS SCHEDULE AND FLEXIBILITY This position will be full-time averaging 40 hours per week with a flexible schedule to accommodate off-hours events.
