Who You Are
The Student Services / SNAP & TANF Administrative Assistant at Tri County Tech provides exceptional customer service and administrative support to enhance the student experience. This position assists students, parents, partner high schools, and external customers in person and by phone with questions regarding attendance, grades, eligibility, enrollment, and available educational opportunities.
The Administrative Assistant also supports the Student Financial Advisor in administering the SNAP Works and TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) programs through student communication, scheduling, document collection, recordkeeping, data entry, and assistance with required reporting. This role helps coordinate access to supportive services and community resources, including transportation, childcare, and employment-related assistance, while maintaining confidentiality and supporting compliance with program requirements.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential to collaborating with students, staff, and community partners to reduce barriers and support student enrollment, retention, completion, and transition to employment. What You'll Possess Qualified Candidates Will: You'll possess a high school diploma.
Technology Center Diploma or Associate's degree preferred. You'll be excellent with computer software applications, including google workspace. You'll have at least two years of related work experience. Prior administrative support experience in a school environment is a plus. You'll have excellent customer service. You're a fanatic about exceeding customer expectations and have excellent follow-up skills.
You'll take the initiative, seek out projects, and openly accept other duties as assigned. You are detail-oriented and organized and possess top-notch communication skills. You continually look for ways to improve your skillset and are always open to receiving feedback.
What You'll Do
Administrative Assistants support a workgroup or function in a task-oriented environment. They possess a present focus and will handle multiple tasks provided direction in the scope of their workgroup. Customer service skills are a top priority as the Administrative Assistant often serves as the front-line representative of the workgroup.
Non-Exempt Essential Functions: Provide frontline customer service by answering phones, assisting customers in person, and helping students access Student Services. Assist or connect students with testing, tuition payment, counseling, financial aid, scholarships, emergency assistance, attendance and grade information, and job placement resources.
Support the SNAP Works & TANF Coordinator with program administration, including eligibility documentation, referrals, appointment scheduling, and case management documentation. Assist with collecting and maintaining participant information, tracking progress, and documenting enrollment, attendance, completion, and employment outcomes.
Support program budgeting and invoicing by organizing supporting documentation, tracking expenditures, and preparing information for review by the Coordinator. Enter and verify program data, maintain accurate participant and expenditure records, and assist with required reporting. Assist with processing student financial and emergency assistance requests and coordinating approved supportive services, including transportation, childcare, and employment-related assistance.
Maintain confidentiality of student and participant information and follow applicable institutional policies and program requirements. Perform other job-related duties assigned by the supervisor, including projects and responsibilities that are similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position.

Terms of Employment: Twelve months; salary to be established by the Board of Education. Evaluation: Performance evaluated by the Student Services Director per Board policy.
