Job description
Bilingual Onsite Supervisor 1st Shift | Niles, IL | Full Time Location: Niles, IL (onsite at client location) Shift: Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Weekends as needed Type: Full time, permanent Compensation: $22.50/hour | Weekly Pay Reports To: Branch Manager Language: Bilingual English/Spanish required Lead the floor in Niles When the shift starts at 6:00 AM, you are already on the floor.
As a Bilingual Onsite Supervisor, you are the face of Midway Staffing at our Niles client site, and your job is to make sure every associate is safe, coached up, and doing their best work. If you like being out with the team instead of behind a desk, and you know how to bring a crew along, this role was built for you.
This is a floor leadership seat. Most of your day is spent walking the operation, coaching associates, keeping safety front and center, and making sure every hour worked is captured right. A smaller part of the role, roughly 15% of your time, goes to recruiting so the site stays fully staffed. You do all of it in English and in Spanish, because that is how this workforce talks.
Why Midway Staffing Midway Staffing is one of the fastest-growing light industrial staffing firms in the country, and we got there by doing things differently. We do not just fill open seats. We connect great people with great opportunities, solve real problems for our clients, and build relationships that last. When you join us, you join a team that follows through, pushes past obstacles, and wins together.
That is not a slogan on a wall. It is how we operate every single day.
- Reliable. We follow through, every time. Trust is the foundation of everything we do.
- Relentless. We push past challenges to deliver results and uncover opportunities.
- Team Player. We succeed together and support one another to do what others call impossible.
What you will do
- Coach associates on the floor every shift, giving real-time feedback on performance, quality, and expectations
- Conduct daily safety walks, spot hazards, correct unsafe behavior on the spot, and reinforce safe work habits
- Lead safety training and first-day orientation so new associates start the right way
- Manage timekeeping: track attendance, review hours, process timecards, and approve them accurately and on time
- Follow up on call-offs, tardies, and attendance patterns, and have the conversation when one is needed
- Handle associate concerns and HR conversations with care and confidentiality
- Prepare daily reports on rosters, attendance, and safety
- Be the go-to contact for the client's leadership team and every associate on your shift
- Support recruiting (about 15% of your time): screen candidates, conduct interviews, and coordinate onboarding to keep the site staffed
- Partner with recruiters and the Branch Manager on staffing plans that hit the client's goals What this job is actually like You will spend most of your day on your feet. Walking lines, checking in with associates, catching the small stuff before it turns into a big problem. Someone skipping a step, a new hire who looks unsure, a crew that is falling behind on rate. The supervisors who do well here are the ones who notice things early and step in calmly, not the ones who wait for the client to point it out. Coaching is a big part of the job, and it does not look like a lecture. It looks like showing someone the right way, explaining why it matters, and checking back an hour later to see how they are doing. Some associates need encouragement, some need a straight conversation, and you will learn to read the difference. You will have those conversations in English and in Spanish, often with people who are new, nervous, or frustrated, and they will trust you because you listen first and do what you say you will do. Safety is never something you get to later. If you see something wrong, you stop it, fix it, and make sure the team understands why. Timekeeping matters just as much, because a missed punch or a wrong timecard is someone's paycheck. Details count here, and the client notices when they are handled right. Nobody is standing over your shoulder. You will have support from leadership, but on your site, you are the one making calls. If you see a problem, you fix it or you flag it. By 2:00 PM, the goal is simple: everyone went home safe, the hours are right, and tomorrow is already covered. What you need to bring
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is required. You will use both languages every single shift.
- Supervisor or lead experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or light industrial setting is required
- Staffing experience is a big plus
- Recruiting or interviewing experience is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Reliable transportation
- Comfortable with Microsoft Suite and/or Google Suite; experience with timekeeping systems or an Applicant Tracking System is a plus
- Flexibility to help on weekends when the operation calls for it What you get
- Weekly pay at $22.50/hour
- A full-time, permanent role with a steady Monday through Friday schedule
- Afternoons free, with a 2:00 PM finish
- Real career growth with clear pathways inside one of the fastest-growing light industrial staffing firms in the country
