Job description

Head of Early Years Education Location: Central Support Office, Bracknell (2 Arlington Square, RG12 1WA), with lots of time out in our nurseries. This is a role for someone who would rather be in the room than behind a desk. Salary: £60,000 + £6,000 car allowance + company benefits Hours: 40 hours, Monday to Friday You know what outstanding early years practice looks like.

Now imagine making it the everyday experience in every room, for every child, across a whole group of nurseries. This is a brand-new senior role, and it’s yours to shape. As our first Head of Early Years Education, you’ll define the My Ohana Way, the curriculum and pedagogy at the heart of everything we do, and bring it to life so that every practitioner understands it, every room lives it and every child feels the difference.

Why you’ll love this role A blank page. It’s a new role, so you’ll set the direction rather than inherit someone else’s. Real reach. Your ideas won’t stay in one setting. They’ll shape the experience of children across all of our nurseries. Practice, not paperwork. You’ll lead from the floor, modelling great interactions alongside our teams.

Room to innovate. Pilot new ideas, see what works for children, then scale it. A team behind you. You’ll report to our Operations Director and work alongside our Head of Quality & Safeguarding and our Learning & Development team. Where you’ll fit in You’ll be our go-to expert on early years curriculum and pedagogy. You won’t line-manage a team.

Instead, your influence will come from your credibility, your visible practice in our rooms and ideas that genuinely work in a real nursery day. What you’ll be doing Shaping our curriculum and education strategy, and capturing the My Ohana Way so everyone can live it Creating practical, ready-to-use tools for every room: age-specific packs, key vocabulary, book lists and activity ideas Designing and delivering bite-sized training that fits into a busy nursery day Spending time in our rooms modelling brilliant adult–child interactions and spotting early where teams need support Connecting our curriculum specialists so their expertise reaches every nursery, not just a few Tracking children’s progress across the group, seeing where they need more and adapting the curriculum to match Designing and evaluating our enrichment programmes, and deciding what comes next Testing new ideas through small pilots and scaling only what makes a real difference to children Helping every nursery explain and evidence its curriculum with confidence when Ofsted visits What you’ll bring A Level 6 qualification in early childhood or education, such as EYTS, QTS (early years) or an Early Childhood Studies degree Significant experience leading early years curriculum or practice improvement across several nurseries Expert knowledge of the EYFS, child development and the Ofsted Early Years Inspection Toolkit A gift for turning big ideas into simple, practical steps, and the confidence to model them in the room The credibility to influence and constructively challenge senior colleagues and managers without relying on line authority A full UK driving licence, as you’ll be out and about visiting our nurseries What’s in it for you A salary of circa £60,000 A £6,000 car allowance Perkbox membership Our Employee Assistance Programme, for confidential support whenever you need it An online GP service for you and your family A generous childcare discount at our nurseries Ready to apply?

We’d love to hear from you. Send your CV and a short cover letter to Rebecca.russell@myohana.co.uk telling us about a time you changed practice across a team. What did you do, and what difference did it make for children? Our process is designed to let you show what you do best: an interview, a short task and a visit to one of our nursery rooms.

Closing date: 30 October 2026 My Ohana is an equal opportunities employer and values equity, inclusion and diversity. We welcome people of different nationalities, backgrounds, beliefs, experiences, abilities and perspectives. We commit to continuing to build a more diverse workforce, which is inclusive and supportive for every individual.

Applicants will need to show they have the right to work in the United Kingdom and the successful candidate will be subject to a DBS, reference and social media checks.
