Host/Hostess - Michigan City, IN

Job description: Join the Club. Farina's Restaurant Group is looking for energetic team members to join our team. Hostess Responsibilities: Full-time and part-time positions available with year-round employment Greet incoming and departing guests warmly with a smile and eye contact Seat guests at tables or in waiting areas Provide guests with menus and answer any initial questions Inform guests of who will be serving them to ensure a smooth handoff to the service staff Answer telephones, take orders, messages and reservations Available to work a variety of hours, days and shifts, including weekends and holidays Ability to multi-task calmly and effectively in a busy, fast-paced environment Manage the flow of guests into the dining and bar areas, provides accurate wait times to incoming guests if appropriate Observe guests’ needs throughout dining experience to ensure they receive high quality service Assign guests to tables they prefer, while keeping table rotation in mind so that servers receive fair seating Respond to complaints and help to resolve them calmly and quickly Have a thorough knowledge of the menu Assist with other positions in the restaurant as needed Provide great customer service Hostess Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required Ability to provide top-notch customer service in a fast-paced environment A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with all restaurant staff Perform high-quality work performance while unsupervised Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time Able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food when necessary Willing to follow instructions and ask questions for clarification if needed Able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system Able to work in a busy restaurant environment Must be able to lift and carry trays or supplies (10-30 lbs.)
