About Kira Kira is a restaurant with two distinct bars serving a discerning, luxury clientele. We are known for elevated cuisine, an exceptional beverage program, and a level of hospitality that matches the expectations of our guests. We are looking for an experienced, craft-focused bartender to join our team and help maintain the standard of excellence our guests expect.

Role Overview Kira is hiring a Commis Chef to support the kitchen brigade with mise en place, station cooking and cleanliness at a consistently high standard. This is a full-time, shift-based position, suited to a cook who wants to learn fast, work clean and grow into a Demi Chef de Partie.

Key responsibilities

Prepare daily mise en place for the assigned station following the recipes, portions and quantities set by the Chef de Partie Cook and plate dishes during service following Kira's standard recipes and plating guides Receive, check and store deliveries; rotate stock using FIFO and label every item with date and contents Keep the station, equipment and fridges clean and organised before, during and after service Report low stock, wastage and equipment faults to the Chef de Partie promptly Support other sections when needed Help with deep cleaning schedules and end-of-shift closing checklists Learn new dishes and techniques quickly and act on feedback from senior chefs Follow all instructions from the Head Chef, Sous Chef and Chef de Partie Food safety and hygiene Work to Dubai Municipality food safety rules and Kira's HACCP plan Record fridge, freezer and cooking temperatures on the daily logs Prevent cross-contamination with colour-coded boards, separate storage and correct handwashing Know and follow the allergen procedures for every dish on the station Wear a clean uniform and hat at all times, use gloves where required, and report any illness before the shift Requirements Culinary school certificate or equivalent hands-on kitchen training At least 1 year of experience as a commis or kitchen helper in a restaurant or hotel Solid knife skills and knowledge of basic cooking methods, sauces and stocks Good spoken English Able to stand for long shifts, lift up to 20 kg and work under pressure Flexible to work evenings, weekends and public holidays Preferred: UAE or GCC fine-dining experience and a Dubai Municipality food hygiene certificate Punctual, disciplined, eager to learn and a good team player What We Offer Opportunity to work with one of the region's leading hospitality and lifestyle groups.
