Registered Nurse

Your Opportunity: The Elk Point Healthcare Centre has an opportunity for a passionate Registered Nurse (RN) dedicated to patient- and family-centered care. This role will be an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team in Long Term Care which is made of 30 beds. You will build meaningful relationships as you work with clients daily providing personal assistance and support services to those in your care.

Superior interpersonal skills will be used daily as you work closely with clients, families, caregivers, and health professionals. You will help maintain a safe environment, observe and report on patients' health and well-being, and ensure effective communication.

Your role

Description: As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being.

In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance.

You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support

• Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Additional Required Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years’ RN experience within the last 5 years with Seniors Health, Acute Care or clinical nursing. Wound care experience. A minimum of 2 years charge nurse experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Case management experience preferred.
