OVERVIEW

AND PURPOSE OF YOUR ROLE As a Bar. Back, you are the backbone of bar operations at Bahrain Surf Park, providing essential backend support to keep our bartenders fully stocked, equipped, and focused on serving guests. You will manage ice supply, restock glassware and spirits, prep garnishes, clear bar counters, dispose of trash, and maintain clean, organized bar work areas.

WHAT YOU DO: Role Responsibilities: General Requirements Adhere to company policies, grooming standards, hygiene protocols, and departmental SOPs at all times. Maintain a good working knowledge of food and beverage offerings, BSP promotions, and current operational initiatives. Support team objectives and contribute positively to the working environment.

Participate actively in daily briefings, training sessions, and development programs. Follow departmental opening and closing checklists to ensure operational readiness and compliance. Stock & Supply Replenishment Heavy Stock Transport: Transport spirits, beer kegs, wine cases, mixers, fresh juices, and ice bags from main storage rooms to bar stations.

Station Restocking: Continuously monitor and refill ice wells, speed rails, bottled beverages, paper straws, and napkins during peak service hours. Follow all safety procedures when handling beverages, equipment, tools, and glassware Glassware & Dishwashing Management Glassware Washing: Collect dirty glassware from bar counters and floor-side stations, wash and sanitize them via bar glass washers, and polish glass surfaces.

Glass Restocking: Keep bartenders continuously supplied with clean, chilled, and polished glassware appropriate for each drink type. Bar Prep & Garnish Support Garnish Prep: Assist bartenders with washing fruit, slicing citrus garnishes, preparing mint leaves, and stocking condiment caddies. Juice & Syrup Batching: Assist in prepping fresh juices and syrup bottles according to the Head Bartender's instructions.

Bar Cleanliness & Waste Removal Trash & Bottle Disposal: Regularly empty trash cans, bottle recycling bins, and cardboard boxes from bar areas. Bar Area Maintenance: Mop spills, wipe down back-bar shelves, clean drainage floor mats, and maintain immaculate back-of-house bar storage. Required Qualification ü High School Certificate or equivalent (entry-level role).

ü Food Handler / Food Safety certification (Required). ü Basic English communication skills. Required Experience ü 0 to 1 year of experience in hospitality, bar support, or restaurant service. ü Prior experience as a barback or runner in a beach venue or high-volume bar is a plus. Required Professional Skills and Attributes ü Physical stamina for heavy lifting (ice bags, beer kegs, liquor crates).

ü Speed, agility, and proactive awareness of bar needs. ü Basic understanding of glassware care, bar tools, and sanitation rules. Required Personal Qualities ü Hardworking, energetic, and proactive with a 'can-do' attitude. ü Attentive to detail and eager to support team members. ü Neat, clean, and well-groomed personal appearance.

ü Flexibility to work rotational shifts, late nights, weekends, and holidays. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIS) ü Glassware & Ice Availability: Ensure bartenders never run out of clean glassware or ice during service (100% availability). ü Station Restock Speed: Replenish speed rails and mixers within 2 minutes of bartender call.

ü Zero Bottlenecks: Zero bar service delays caused by missing bar prep supplies. ü Bar Sanitation Audit: Maintain 95%+ audit score on back-bar and storage cleanliness.
