Inlet Coastal Resort is seeking an enthusiastic Activities Assistant to help create meaningful, engaging experiences for our residents.

Position Overview

The Activities Assistant supports the planning and delivery of recreational activities, social events, and outings that reflect our residents’ interests and abilities. This part-time position is ideal for someone who is creative, patient, dependable, and passionate about working with older adults. The role also includes driving the community bus to transport residents to scheduled outings, appointments, and events.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with planning, organizing, and leading recreational and social activities. Facilitate group programs such as arts and crafts, games, gentle fitness, and music activities. Encourage resident participation and adapt activities to accommodate different interests and abilities. Help create a safe, welcoming environment where residents feel included and connected.

Safely transport residents using the community bus. Set up activity spaces, clean up afterward, and keep supplies organized. Observe resident participation and share relevant feedback or concerns with the Activities Director. Support the Activities Director with other duties as needed.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; education in recreation, gerontology, or a related field is a plus. Previous experience working with older adults, preferably in assisted living or a healthcare setting. Valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and the ability to safely operate the community bus. A compassionate, patient approach and a positive attitude.

Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to engage residents with a range of needs, interests, and abilities. Flexibility to adjust to changing schedules and activity needs.
