Job description

The EVSE Technician is responsible for the commissioning, maintenance, and repair of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, including AC Chargers and Rapid DC, Ultra, and High-Power Charging (HPC) units across sites in the UK. This role is ideal for someone with a strong electrical background who can work independently while delivering high-quality technical support on-site.

The successful candidate will ensure EV charging stations operate efficiently, safely, and in line with company and client standards. The role involves working across a variety of environments, including outdoor locations and confined spaces, with travel and overnight stays required. Commission and configure AC and Rapid DC EV chargers at client sites Carry out initial setup, testing, and validation to ensure compliance with industry standards Perform routine and preventative maintenance to maximise uptime and performance Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and software-related faults Conduct diagnostic testing, firmware updates, and calibration of EV chargers Replace faulty components or complete units in accordance with manufacturer guidelines Work closely with Service Coordination and Operations teams to ensure accurate job reporting and timely follow-up Collaborate with project and installation teams to support seamless deployment of charging infrastructure Provide on-site technical support and basic user guidance to clients Maintain tools, equipment, and company assets in good working condition Accurately document all service activities within the service management system Ensure compliance with all health & safety regulations and electrical standards Participate in ongoing safety training and certification programmes Essential Level 3 Electro-technical qualification (e.

g. City & Guilds or equivalent) 2–5 years’ hands-on experience in electrical installation, maintenance, or repair Experience working in SLA-driven environments Familiarity with test equipment such asmultimetersand voltage testers Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex faults Good communicationand customer-facing skills Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Full UK driving licence Desirable Experience in EV charging, renewable energy, or power electronics EV charging certifications or manufacturer-specific training Experience working with Rapid DC, Ultra, or HPC chargers Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals Understanding of analogue and digital electronics Strong awareness of site health & safety requirements 🚙 Company Van and Fuel Card Provided for business use.
