Director of Educational and Clinical Services
Job description
Director of Educational and Clinical Services Groves Learning Organization | St. Louis Park, Minnesota Great programs deserve great leadership. The next chapter is waiting to be built. At Groves Learning Organization, we believe every student deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and discover what's possible. Our Learning Center has a strong foundation: experienced professionals, respected programs, and a deep commitment to helping students with learning disabilities and attention differences thrive.
Now, we're looking for a leader who can help us build what's next. We are at an important moment of change and opportunity. We're taking a thoughtful look at how our programs operate, how we serve families, and how we can extend our impact into the future. We need someone who sees both the mission and the mechanics. Someone who cares deeply about education but also understands that great outcomes require strong systems, thoughtful financial stewardship, engaged teams, and operational excellence.
Someone who has built something before—and wants to do it again. Not by starting over, but by building on what's already good. The opportunity As Director of Educational and Clinical Services, you'll lead a multidisciplinary team delivering diagnostic assessments, tutoring, ADHD and executive functioning coaching, speech-language services, summer programming, and related student and family supports.
You'll inherit a team with deep expertise and a mission worth believing in. You'll also step into an organization navigating change, strengthening its operations, and exploring new opportunities for growth. Your work will be both strategic and practical. You'll listen and learn. You'll build trust. You'll assess what's working, identify what's getting in the way, and bring people together around a clear direction.
You'll help us answer meaningful questions: How do we build on our strongest programs while improving the experience for students, families, and staff? How can we create more effective systems and sustainable operating models? What new services, partnerships, or approaches could expand our reach and impact? How do we position the Learning Center for long-term financial health and responsible growth?
How can we work more closely across Groves to create a connected experience for the families we serve? We don't expect you to arrive with every answer. We do expect you to know how to find answers, make thoughtful decisions, and turn good ideas into meaningful progress. What you'll lead Build on excellence. Shape what's next.
Protect and strengthen the quality of our existing programs while exploring new opportunities to meet evolving student and family needs. Use data, experience, and collaboration to guide decisions about program development, service models, partnerships, and responsible growth. Bring operational strength to an important mission.
Lead the financial and operational performance of the educational and clinical services offered at Groves. Strengthen systems for scheduling, staffing, service capacity, enrollment, family communications, and program delivery. Translate complex operational challenges into practical solutions that improve both effectiveness and sustainability.
Lead people through change—with clarity and care. Build trust with experienced educators, clinicians, specialists, and operational professionals. Set clear expectations, develop leaders, encourage collaboration, and establish accountability. Create an environment where people understand the direction, feel valued for their expertise, and can do their best work.
See the whole system, not just the individual programs. Take an active role in ensuring that Learning Center services are delivered effectively and safely, whether at Groves, a partner school, or another community location. Recognize staffing, space, supervision, safeguarding, and operational risks. Work with Facilities, partner organizations, and appropriate specialists to address concerns and ensure environments support students and staff.
Connect people, programs, and possibilities. Work closely with Groves Academy, Finance, Human Resources, Advancement, Marketing, Admissions, and community partners. Strengthen relationships, align priorities, and create opportunities for shared resources, coordinated services, and broader organizational impact. Who we're looking for We're looking for a leader with the heart of an educator, the mind of an operator, and the instincts of a builder.
You may have spent your career in education, student services, or a mission-driven organization. You may have led a school, a multidisciplinary program, or a complex service line. Your title matters less than what you've accomplished and how you've led. You bring: A genuine passion for education and student success. You understand the difference exceptional educational services can make for students and families.
Deep operational leadership experience. You've managed budgets, staffing, complex workflows, service delivery, and competing priorities—and you know how to make systems work better. A builder's mindset. You've launched a program, developed a service, redesigned an operating model, established new systems, or helped an organization grow.
You know how to move something from an idea to a sustainable reality. Strategic and financial judgment. You can connect program decisions to resources, performance, capacity, and long-term organizational health. Experience leading through change. You can bring stability without standing still, build trust without avoiding accountability, and help people move forward when the path isn't fully defined.
Strong stakeholder leadership. You're comfortable collaborating across disciplines, navigating different perspectives, and building alignment with educators, families, executives, community partners, and other stakeholders. A systems perspective. You recognize how staffing, safety, space, processes, and service models come together to shape the student and family experience.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in education, leadership, business, nonprofit management, or a related field preferred. Significant leadership experience in education, student services, human services, or another complex, people-centered environment. Demonstrated responsibility for budgets, operations, staffing, and multidisciplinary teams.
Experience building, expanding, or substantially improving programs, services, or operating systems. Understanding of students with learning disabilities and attentional differences, and the ability to lead specialized professionals while respecting their expertise. Experience managing relationships across multiple departments, disciplines, or organizational partners.
Why Groves? Why now? Because the foundation is strong. The mission matters. And the next chapter hasn't been written yet. You'll have an opportunity to work alongside talented professionals, strengthen programs that make a genuine difference, and help shape how the Learning Center serves students and families in the years ahead.
This is not a role for someone looking to simply maintain the status quo. It's for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, sees opportunity in change, and believes that thoughtful leadership can bring people, programs, and possibilities together. If you've built something meaningful before, and you're ready to help build what comes next, we'd love to meet you.
Groves Learning Organization is committed to fostering a welcoming, inclusive environment where students, families, and employees can thrive.
