WHAT YOU’LL DO Determine whether materials, castings, and purchased components meet required standards and specifications. This position requires strong discipline, attention to detail, and a commitment to accuracy when managing specialized work efficiently and completing tasks on time.
You take a careful, methodical approach to work and demonstrate confidence, competence, and a strong sense of responsibility. Responsible for processing heat treatment coupons on a regular basis Perform skilled inspections, work with exact tolerances, and inspect all castings and outside machined parts used in the production of company products Support the entire company distribution system with receiving inspection planning support including: Develop and maintain receiving inspection plans for all purchased finished components or services Provide hands-on training in the use of inspection gauging, plans, and reporting techniques as required Identify, justify, and purchase appropriate gauging to support inspection plans Execute the quality function for the non-conforming material review process for both purchased and internally assembled components Document inspection results and maintain quality department records Conduct functional tests on material as required Keep work area clean and orderly Other duties as assigned YOUR EXPERIENCES & SKILLS Minimum four (4) years as an inspector for a manufacturing company or current Muncie Power Products employee who qualifies through testing Basic blueprint and geometric drawing and tolerance skills to interpret drawings Basic inspection skills with hand gauging instruments Basic machining knowledge of part fixtures and work holding Skill and knowledge of all types of inspection equipment Ability to utilize personal computers to run software programs Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to document problem-solving efforts Effectively able to present information in one-on-one and small-group situations Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed BENEFITS Medical, dental, and vision insurance, and zero card Life, death, dismemberment, and dependent insurances Prescription drug programs Telehealth Short-term and long-term disability, and flexible leaves of absence Employee assistance programs 401k (match 50% on the first 6% of deferred compensation) and flexible spending plans Three (3) weeks of paid time off Nine (9) paid holidays Wellness and Engagement LOCATION: Tulsa, OK DEPARTMENT: Quality WORK ENVIRONMENT: Manufacturing/Warehouse REPORTS TO: Corporate Quality Manager SHIFT TYPE: Monday–Friday (5-8s) WORKPLACE ARRANGEMENT: On-site SUPERVISES: No SALARY GRADE: 13 To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
