Competitive Pay: $26/hour Full-Time, Consistent Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8AM-5PM No Late Evenings: Enjoy a predictable weekday schedule Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with employer match, life insurance, and disability coverage Generous Time Off: 3 weeks PTO + 8 paid holidays Specialty Surgical Experience: Build valuable skills in periodontics, dental implants, grafting, and advanced surgical care CE & Professional Development: Continuing education and opportunities to expand your clinical knowledge Advanced Technology: Work with digital charting, Curve software, imaging technology, and modern specialty equipment Experienced Specialists: Work alongside periodontal providers and gain exposure to complex cases and advanced treatment Supportive Team Culture: Join an experienced clinical team that values communication, collaboration, and excellent patient care Career Growth: Access additional development and career opportunities through Affinity Dental Management's growing network of practices Location & Schedule Western Mass Periodontics & Implant Specialists 435 South Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201 Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 8AM–5PM Your Role as a Dental Surgical Assistant Provide chairside assistance during periodontal, implant, grafting, and other surgical and non-surgical procedures Prepare patients, operatories, surgical instruments, materials, and equipment for treatment Take and process diagnostic-quality digital x-rays and assist with imaging Follow sterilization, infection-control, OSHA, and surgical safety protocols Provide compassionate patient support and explain pre- and post-operative instructions Maintain accurate clinical documentation and organized, treatment-ready operatories Maintain instruments, equipment, supplies, and surgical inventory Collaborate with providers and the clinical team to keep procedures and patient flow running efficiently What We’re Looking For Previous dental assisting experience preferred Periodontal, implant, oral surgery, or other surgical assisting experience is a strong plus Dental assisting education or certification preferred Radiography certification preferred Current CPR certification preferred Familiarity with surgical instruments, sterilization, and infection-control protocols Strong chairside, communication, and organizational skills Professional, dependable, calm, and comfortable working with surgical patients High school diploma or equivalent required Build Skills That Set You Apart Specialty dentistry gives Dental Assistants the opportunity to develop clinical skills that can take their careers further.
