Tax & Accounting AI Engineer

About The Role

This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position. As a Tax & Accounting AI Engineer, you will help organizations transform the way they manage tax, accounting, audit, and financial processes through the application of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.

Working closely with clients, business leaders, and technology teams, you will leverage your domain expertise to identify opportunities for innovation, improve operational efficiency, and help design solutions that deliver meaningful business outcomes. This role is ideal for professionals who are passionate about the future of finance and excited by the opportunity to combine deep business knowledge with modern technology.

These roles will be located in New York, Dallas/Fort Worth, Chicago and Washington, DC.

Your Responsibilities

Analyze accounting, tax, audit, and financial workflows to identify improvement opportunities Support the design and implementation of AI-enabled solutions and automation initiatives Partner with business and technical stakeholders to solve complex operational challenges Translate business requirements into practical and scalable technology solutions Support client transformation and innovation projects Evaluate emerging technologies and their application across finance functions Facilitate collaboration between business users and technical delivery teams Contribute to the successful delivery of enterprise AI initiatives About You We are seeking professionals with strong accounting, tax, audit, or finance expertise who are eager to help shape the future of technology-enabled business solutions.

You may come from backgrounds such as: Public Accounting Tax Advisory Audit Financial Consulting Accounting Operations Finance Transformation Financial Systems Tax Technology Preferred Qualifications CPA, ACA, ACCA, CTA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification Experience within a Big Four firm, professional services organization, or corporate finance function Strong understanding of accounting, tax, audit, or financial processes Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities Experience supporting business transformation initiatives Willingness and aptitude to undertake intensive AI engineering training Additional Experience That Would Be Beneficial Accounting or tax technology implementation experience Data analytics and reporting experience Exposure to Generative AI and emerging technologies Programming experience in Python, SQL, or comparable technologies Experience with automation, workflow redesign, or process improvement initiatives Familiarity with APIs, integrations, or modern enterprise technology platforms About Us About FDM FDM powers the people behind tech and innovation.
