Production Specialist

Job Title: Production Specialist Reports To: Production Manager FLSA Status: Salaried Position Overview The production specialist is responsible for supporting the production department by managing material inventory and production schedules. This role ensures that safety, quality, and productivity standards are met while supporting workforce development.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate production team members to meet daily output and quality standards. Assist with shipping and receiving operations, including verifying materials, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring accurate documentation. Manage production schedules to meet output, efficiency, and delivery targets. Support training and development of team members.

Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, quality requirements and company policies. Maintain accurate production and inventory records, including shift reports and training logs. Serve as point of contact between production staff and management. Foster a positive team culture by promoting accountability, professional growth and respect in the workplace.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management or other related fields required. Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience required. Skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and/or other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis, and maintain databases required.

SAP knowledge preferred. Manufacturing background preferred. Certification in six sigma, safety management, or other relevant certifications preferred. Ability to comprehend and communicate complex verbal information in English with staff and customers. Ability to demonstrate full working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, procedures, and policies with the ability to use them in varied situations. Ability to manage collaborative teams for larger projects or groups both internal and external to business and across functional areas.

Results have implications for the management and operations of multiple areas of the organization. Ability to provide a high level of customer service and staff training to meet customer service standards and expectations for the assigned unit(s). Resolves service issues in the assigned unit(s) in a timely and respectful manner.

Supervisory Responsibility Not Applicable Working Conditions/Physical Demands Work requires close attention to task for work to be accurately completed. Intermitted breaks during the workday do not compromise the work. Work is varied every day and the employee needs to be adaptable to respond to these changes and use independent judgment and manage priorities.

No substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Visual, sensory and audible sensory requirements apply to position. Requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Some elements of the job are sedentary, but the employee will be required to stand for periods of time or move throughout the premise.
