You can learn more about our company at www.westpointhome.com Role Summary/ Purpose: The Assistant Manager is a leadership position in the store, and is responsible to assist the manager and lead the store staff to deliver financial results and all aspects of store operations including customer service and customer experience, merchandising, store promotions, staff training and staff management, problem solving, and inventory control.

Principle Responsibilities: Responsible to support achievement of the store’s financial goals Assists manager with monitoring and adjusting schedules to ensure labor is utilized to optimize sales Prepares and oversees physical inventories, ensuring proper forecast/planning of merchandise Meet or exceeds established store sales and performance goals daily Responsible for visual presentation; displays floor sets and merchandise presentations Responsible for store marketing function including advertising and promotions May prepare weekly schedules in accordance with company guidelines; Ensures compliance to all Federal and State employment requirements Ensures banking and cash management guidelines are followed Creates and distributes reporting as needed Supports recruiting, hiring, and developing store associates; assists preparing and conducting performance reviews and evaluations Coaches associates, ensuring that all associates are fully trained on product knowledge and sales skills Leads efforts to reduce in-store shrink activity though loss prevention education, awareness and compliance Hands-on leader willing to assist with unloading stock and merchandising the floor Acts as Manager when Store Manager is not present Job Requirements/Essential Functions: Physical Requirements Lift or carrying up to 35 lbs frequently, and greater than 50 lbs occasionally Pushing or pulling forces up to 35 lbs Standing for extended periods of time Walking Seeing Reading Bending Crouching Hearing Speaking clearly Reaching shoulder level or above Use of fingers for cash register Repetitive motion Attendance Ability to maintain a regular work schedule Ability to work a flexible schedule to include holidays, weekends and evening hours Mental Demands Problem solving Adequate concentration/memory skills Comprehending Prioritizing Learning Emotional regulation (attitude/temperament) Analyzing Interpersonal communication Decision making Orientation – awareness of surroundings Ability to take direction Stress tolerance Occupational Exposures Cleaning solutions Soaps/detergents Steamers West.
