This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced real estate professional to play a key role in residential asset management, providing strategic financial and operational insights while directly impacting portfolio performance. The Associate will serve as a trusted partner to leadership, Property Management, and Accounting teams, contributing to decision-making and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Support the preparation of detailed annual budgets, monthly/quarterly property and portfolio reporting, financial forecasts, capital plans, and variance analyses. Monitor leasing, pricing, occupancy, operating expenses, and capital expenditures. Develop and maintain customized financial and operational reports to support corporate initiatives, including revenue optimization, cost management and utility consumption tracking.
Review analyst reports for accuracy. Ensure reports clearly communicate key trends, risks, and opportunities. Research economic, demographic, and industry trends; benchmark against competitors; and deliver actionable insights that inform portfolio decisions. Track capital projects and renovations, ensuring alignment with approved scope, timing, and return expectations.
Deliver clear, concise asset reporting to the Asset Manager on key operating metrics, financial performance, and project milestones. Support system enhancements, process improvements, and special projects as needed. Mentor and provide guidance to junior analysts as applicable.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year college or university (Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, Economics, or related field preferred). 3-5 years of experience in real estate asset management with a solid understanding of property-level financial statements, multifamily experience strongly preferred. Advanced Excel proficiency, including building and maintaining budgets and financial models, with a command of complex formulas and the ability to turn analysis into clear strategy.
Strong business acumen, analytical mindset, and ability to balance detail with big-picture thinking. Excellent communication skills—able to influence, present, and partner effectively with stakeholders at every level. Experience with Yardi or similar property management/accounting systems preferred. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Able to demonstrate a high level of accountability for key responsibilities and quality of deliverables, while maintaining a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
