Job Summary

DSI is growing again! We are seeking a Field Operations Supervisor to support our Illinois operations. This hands-on role combines recruiting and staffing support with day-to-day field operations. The Operations Supervisor will help attract and onboard security personnel, support scheduling and workforce coordination, oversee fleet needs, and conduct site visits to help ensure consistent service delivery.

The Operations Supervisor serves as a key connection between branch leadership, field personnel, applicants, and clients. The successful candidate is organized, responsive, and comfortable balancing office-based coordination with local field responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Support recruitment and staffing efforts, including applicant follow-up, interview coordination, and communication with hiring teams Assist with new-hire onboarding and track completion of required documentation and compliance steps Support scheduling and workforce coordination to help maintain adequate site coverage Coordinate fleet management activities, including vehicle assignments, records, maintenance follow-up, and reporting concerns Conduct site visits, inspections, and officer check-ins to assess service delivery and provide coaching Help ensure officers follow client requirements, post instructions, company policies, and safety procedures Respond promptly to call-offs, emergencies, and other operational issues Identify, address, and report hazards, incidents, staffing concerns, and service issues Provide coaching, mentoring, and corrective action to security personnel as needed Maintain accurate reports and records using Microsoft Office and internal systems Collaborate with branch leadership to support operational continuity, client satisfaction, and regional growth Required Skills & Qualifications Strong customer service orientation with excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams Ability to use applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other back-office software Ability to perform routine foot patrols, lift moderately, and work in various weather conditions Ability to travel locally, approximately 75% Pre-Employment Requirements Minimum 21 years of age High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a means of communication Ability to pass required background checks, motor vehicle screening, and drug screening Must meet all applicable state licensing requirements Experience Two years of security experience preferred Prior military or law enforcement experience highly preferred Benefits 401(k) Medical insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Paid time off Certification Requirements Valid state driver’s license Education Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Required Screenings Criminal background check Motor vehicle screening Drug screen #ILL48 DSI Security Services is a drug free employer complies with all applicable laws regarding affirmative action and equal opportunity in all its activities and programs and does not discriminate against anyone protected by law because of age, color, disability, national origin, race, religion, sex, handicap, or status as a veteran or disabled veteran.
